Sarah’s acting in 'The Body' was incredible and she should have won the Emmy but of course as it’s a fantasy show she wasn’t even nominated! Buffy and Dr. Who are great although I think the latter would have been even better if Ecclestone had stayed, David Tennant’s weird facial expressions somewhat spoil it for me. No Stargate SG1! it would be 2 on my list, it had the same combination of inventive story lines and funny dialogue as Buffy.

I think I'm going to give DS9 a chance again, but the few episodes I've watched in the past turned me right off.
Funny, Babylon 5 is my personal number 1 and it's nowhere on your list. Of course, there is no accounting for taste.

Favorite episode from Doctor Who... hands down: "Doomsday"...

As far as shows? Torchwood is by far my favorite. Followed by Lost, Doctor Who, Life on Mars, Stargate....

I haven't watched enough sci-fi shows to populate a top ten list but I share your affinity for Deep Space Nine. Have you read any of the Relaunch novels? I highly recommend the ones written by S.D. Perry.

I picked up Twist of Faith, a compilation of the first couple of books, written by different authors, a couple years ago for travel reading but never got around to reading it until this past year. Perry's Avatar books nailed the characters and wove a narrative worthy of the later seasons of the show. The stories by other authors were unfortunately off the mark. After finishing that collection I purchased and read Rising Son and Unity, also by Perry, on the iPhone Kindle app.

Neither disappointed. All three picked up the threads of the finale, developed compelling character arcs and wove in elements from both DS9 and TNG (remember Marc Alaimo as the first Cardassian?) in a way that would make any Trek fan smile.
