“Three more ringtone apps come in as 4, 5 & 6 including the months old iBeer.“

Sure, iBeer and iHunt certainly do iSuck, but I'm not sure I agree with you on Chopper. I don’t think it‘s a ringtone app at all. Although it’s a completely unoriginal concept, it’s very well done for what it is. It takes advantage of the iPhone’s unique features, looks and sounds pretty good, and it plays great.

Sure, a lot of the blame for this one being so high can be attributed to its current .99 price point, but don’t discount the built in familiarity and nostalgia associated with the original game.

"The part I love the most is that the people making the “just market your app!” comment have no real idea how much effective marketing costs."

I agree with you that these comments are a bit on the naive side. Everyone seems to think that app developers can go blow a few grand and recoup that cost many times over. The reality is that this will not happen.

However, right now, we've been offering free advertising on AppBeacon and have seen very little developer uptake. Now, admittedly, AppBeacon doesn't get the insane traffic levels that the App Store gets, but any traffic is good traffic.

So, please help spread the word to other developers that they can at least get some free promotion on AppBeacon.

Thanks
