Last summer I was fortunate enough to be able to drive my aunt's Acura TSX (double the price of the fit) and it also defaulted to GPS and you had to hit the okay button everytime! I talked to my cousin (who's in his 50's) because he can't drive 3 min w/o gettng lost, so he's had many GPS systems. And he told me they all do this. I don't like it either! but, let's put the blame on America and the legal system and not Honda!

Katie,

I agree that the disclaimer is probably never going to go away, but I see no reason why the dash unit cannot default to the radio instead of the GPS. That way I wouldn't have to fiddle with the stupid "okay" button ever. single. time. I. Got. In. The. Car.

That's all I'm trying to say.

I don't know if you've noticed this, but ALL gps units, whether in-dash or not have that disclaimer and they all make you agree to it. Not always everytime, but a lot. To be fair, it may be annoying but they are only protecting themselves because there is always some idiot who gets in an accident and sues the company. Who wouldn't want to avoid that?

I agree with all your comments about the new fit. I myself purchased one about three weeks ago and it is not perfect but I will say I have highly enjoyed owning it.

The navi ok button does annoy me and I believe it would be Honda's the biggest flaw.

I took a few students on a field trip to Nashville (for a 2 hour drive) and got reports on the back seat. They are comfortable (just remember to tell your passengers to lift those head rests).

I'm glad I broke down and bought a new car. The fit is a perfect fit for me. I now have plenty of room for transporting art and anything else I might have to take with me :).
