Folks, very nice job! It's a treat to hear three intelligent and articulate people discuss what has become a pop culture phenomenon in a way that's unapologetically geeky without sounding sad, pathetic, or lacking a social life. Instead, it was pithy, funny and smart. I agree, if I had been drinking something, the Quantum Leap reference would have made me do a spit take. Keep up the great work!

I can't remember whether it was Ged or David who hated "the boxing episode," but I recommend watching the longer version (believe it or not) that's in the Season 3 box set. It actually fleshes out a lot of the character stuff that was cut seemingly in favor of more people punching the daylights out of each other. To me, the longer version is the superior episode -- though even better would have been trimming the fighting and retaining as much of the other material as possible.

I think one of the things about Season 4 that we can cheer (apart from an excellent first episode), is that there will be no one-off episodes. Apparently the Sci-Fi network finally clued in that the one-off episode format just doesn't work on Battlestar, and isn't going to force the producers to make a few of them this time around. That was the reason we got episodes like the one where Callie and the Chief were locked in the airlock while Adama visited with his deceased wife in his head, or that god-awful black market episode way back when -- the Sci-Fi channel wanted episodes that someone who'd never watched the show in the past could get into. And, without exception, they were the weakest episodes of the series. I am glad, then, that every episode this season will service the overall story arc...should help make for one hell of a final season (I hope!).

Jason, don't know yet. We're talking about making it a regular thing, and Dave did title the thing "Episode 1", so we'll see. Hopefully Dave has more information about how to go about getting a podcast distributed on iTunes. :-)

Joannou, thanks for your words of support! It's good to know we weren't boring or at least were sufficiently geeky. I'll take your +1 vote and cherish it. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it means a lot to me.

Hi Ged,

My girlfriend and I absolutely enjoyed this little nugget! Especially the "Quantum Leap" and "Pissed Off Actor Who Played Tigh" parts!

You guys should do it again next week!

Cheers, Joannou.
