Man you get the point, this show sucks.. I'm from Taiwan, watched all the 6 season mythbusters, and quit smash lab only for 2 episode...

This show... I think total failure, extreme unpractical, lack of experience and boring are their objectives..

Typical marketing weasels. Why come up with a new concept when you can rip-off or borrow equity and sell it as a new idea.

When "Happy Days" first season ended and the networks found out that their intended star Ron Howards character "Richie Cunningham" didn't win over viewers but rather a secondary character by the name of "Fonzie" played by Henry Winkler did.

Because of this the marketing weasels wanted to rename the show "Fonzies Happy Days" and retool the whole format. The entire cast including Henry Winkler threatened to walk off the production and so it never happened but they did work "The Fonz" into almost every episode and made him move into the garage apartment at the Cunninghams to make the scripts easier as well.

I'd almost bet they approached 'Myth Busters' about spinning off a new show and were met with resistance or 'Myth Busters' due to their clear success is approaching re-negotiations and Discovery wanted to make them feel less secure by launching a show that if successful could potentially threaten theirs? If so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

All I know is marketing people control this stuff and they are the biggest weasels in any creative environment period the end.

I watched one episode during The Discovery Channel's "Sneak Peek Week," and I can say it's bad. It lacks the smarts and science of Mythbusters, relying instead on explosions for the sake of explosions. I'm guessing it won't last long.

If they want a new show to attract the Mythbusters crowd, just bring back Junkyward Wars. I loved that show!

I wholeheartedly agree with you about this concept of crafting a show like this to try to capture lightning-in-a-bottle. Mythbusters works because those guys actually, passionately care about their topic. The early shows are the best ones because they are NOT over-produced or crafted. Let genius be what it is...natural...and leave the over-massaging to the movie-of-the-week type dramas...or *gasp* Lifetime Television movies.
